    and is the Federal Government’s principal agency for cancer
    research and training.
  • The National
    Marrow Donor Program
    (NMDP) is the international leader
    in the facilitation of unrelated marrow and blood stem cell
    transplantation.
  • The Fred Hutchinson
    Cancer Research Center
    conducts research of the highest
    standards to improve prevention and treatment of cancer and
    related diseases.
  • This (NCI)
    booklet
    has important information about leukemia and discusses
    possible causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, followup care
    and coping with this disease.
  • The Southern
    California Biomedical Council
    provides information and
    resources for the biomedical industry. They also sponsor conferences
    where new biomedical advancements for diseases like cancer
    are presented.
  • The City
    of Hope
    a Comprehensive Cancer Center, is an innovative
    biomedical research, treatment and educational institution.
    The City of Hope also facilitates bone marrow typing for the
    National Marrow Donor Program.
  • Medline
    Plus
    (updated daily) provides indexed information on drugs,
    health, and clinical trials; it is a service the U.S. National
    Library of Medicine Health and National Institutes of Health.
  • The Leukemia & Lymphoma
    Society
    is the world’s largest voluntary health organization
    dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient
    services.
  • To explore alternative treatments, the Alternative
    Medicine Angel
    is a non-profit site providing information
    on alternative medications, research, physicians and therapies.
  • The Sailing
    Heritage Society
    provides no-cost cruises on Mallory for
    seriously ill patients and their families and provides low-cost
    fundraising cruises for nonprofits when Mallory is not chartering
    commercially to cover her own expenses.
